“Funauta” is sung when the procession of portable shrines begins.
It is sung at autumn festivals in Ito City on the Izu Peninsula in japan.

Originally, it was used to inspire soldiers into battle and claim victory.

However, in the Edo period, when there were no more fights, it began to be sung at festivals, says Kikuma, who belongs to the preservation society.

Autumn festivals in Ito City on the Izu Peninsula will held early october usually.
